2021 seed.nih.gov Website Usability Survey
A. MODERATOR QUESTIONS BEFORE STARTING USABILITY TESTING

A1. What is your role at your current job?
A2. How many years have you been working in your role?
A3. How often do you use the current SBIR website: Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly
B. MODERATOR INSTRUCTIONS
* We’re going to have you use a prototype of the new SEED website. We are recording responses to determine what changes
need to be made, if any, to the current design.
* We would like you to use it as you normally would, but note that we would prefer observing how you navigate the site unless you
are specifically asked to search – but let us know if search would be your first thought for any of the tasks.
* We are not testing you, we’re testing the design of our website.
* We want honest feedback, so let us know what was easy or hard to use.
* You won’t offend us, so please tell us if something doesn’t make sense to you. We want it to work well.
* If you have questions while using the site, feel free to ask but I can’t acknowledge them right away because I don’t want to
inf luence you as you use the site.
* We ask that you think aloud. Tell us what you’re thinking and what you’re doing.
* Please keep in mind that there is more than one correct answer for many of the tasks we will go through today. We just want to
learn what would make the most sense to you.
* Please navigate to https://stage.seed.nih.gov/ and share your screen.
* Please read the f irst task aloud and then begin.
