SUBJECT: Feedback on Reviewing Human Subjects Clinical Trials Applications
FROM: NIH Center for Scientific Review (CSR)
Dear Dr. X,
Thank you for your service to the NIH and for performing peer review for CSR. We continually seek to improve our practices. We are currently examining our Human Subjects Clinical Trials review criteria, led by a working group from our external advisory committee. The working group was formed to address concerns that the review criteria have become too numerous and complex, potentially impacting the quality of the review.
We are reaching out to you because you are a member of a study section that reviews a high number of clinical trials applications. We would like to hear your opinions about reviewing clinical trials applications and the Human Subjects Clinical Trials (HSCTI) form. Your feedback is quite valuable, so please take just a couple of minutes to let us know your experience.
Your participation is voluntary, and your answers will be kept private. The survey should take about 5 minutes to complete. If possible, please complete the survey by XX, September X, 2021.

Sincerely,
Hope
