The form to request a CNE should be
maintained exactly as it is. It asks all of the
necessary information, and its no cost filing
provides a great public service. This allows
individuals to request documentation from
the government without worrying about
the financial burden it would cause.

The current form/process for receiving a
Certificate of Non-Existence should not be
changed (except, if possible, to receive
results faster). The most recent changes to
the form—which made it clearer to fill out
and includes the option to receive a CNE for
a US-born woman who lost citizenship by
marriage—were very useful. Please keep
the process free and easy to request.

I am writing to support that USCIS maintain
the current collection of information for G1566, Request for a Certificate of NonExistence. The form is clear, asks all the
information necessary for USCIS to provide
a determination, and provides clear
instructions on how the requestor should go
about filling out the form and sending it to
USCIS, which signatures are necessary, etc.
This version is much clearer than the
previous unofficial version. The fact that
this form is free also is a great service to the
public. I recommend no changes to the
current system.
