Recently, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) mailed you a letter asking you to complete the Electric Vehicle Inventory and Use Survey (eVIUS). If you have submitted your survey in the past few weeks, thank you! If you have not yet done so, please complete the survey as soon as possible. The survey will close on X. The survey takes only about 15 minutes.

Your participation in eVIUS is voluntary; however, your response is needed to ensure an accurate and comprehensive picture of the characteristics and uses of electric vehicles on our Nation’s roads. A summary report, as well as other data products, will be published on the BTS web page at www.bts.gov/eVIUS. The data will be aggregated, and no individual information will be included. The Bureau of Transportation Statistics, its employees, and agents will use the information you provide for statistical purposes only and will hold your individual information in confidence to the full extent permitted by law. In accordance with the Confidential Information Protection and Statistical Efficiency Act of 2002 (Title 5 of Public Law 107-347) and other applicable Federal laws, your responses will not be disclosed in identifiable form without your informed consent. Per the Federal Cybersecurity Enhancement Act of 2016, Federal information systems are protected from malicious activities through cybersecurity screening of transmitted data.
A federal agency may not conduct or sponsor, and a person is not required to respond to, nor shall a person be subject to a penalty for failure to comply with a collection of information subject to the requirements of the Paperwork Reduction Act unless that collection of information displays a current valid OMB Control Number. The OMB approval number for this collection is XXXX-XXXX and it expires on MM/DD/YYYY. Public reporting for this collection of information is estimated to be approximately fifteen minutes per response, including the time for reviewing instructions, completing and reviewing the collection of information.
