How do hemp data impact me?
•

The data from this hemp survey can inform your decisions about growing, harvesting, and selling hemp as well as
the type of hemp you decide to produce.

•

The data will also assist regulatory agencies, state governments, processors, and other key industry entities that
impact you, the producer.

Hemp means the plant species Cannabis sativa L. with a delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol concentration of not more than
0.3% on a dry weight basis. The Domestic Hemp Production Program established in the Agriculture Improvement Act of
2018 (2018 Farm Bill) allows for the cultivation of hemp under certain conditions.
We recommend you respond online. On the Respondent Portal, you can complete your survey, track upcoming surveys,
access data visualizations and reports of interest, link to other USDA agencies, and more.
The information you provide will be used for statistical purposes only. In accordance with federal law, your
responses will be kept confidential and will not be disclosed in identifiable form. We will publish the data April 17,
2024, in the Hemp report at nass.usda.gov/publications and in NASS’s Quick Stats database at quickstats.nass.usda.gov.
Thank you for your participation and support of U.S. agriculture. For more information about this survey, visit
