Changes to the burden estimates of Form 4797 are due to a decrease in the number of filers (from 325,000 to 211,536) based on the most recent filing data and to avoid duplication of the burden for tax exempt filers (accounted for in OMB control number 1545-0047). This updated filing data decreases the total burden hours from 16,614,000 to 10,813,720.
