Request for Principal Investigator to Forward Invitation Email (PI is Not Participating)

Subject: Please forward: Noyce Program Evaluation invitation

Dear [NAME],

We hope you are doing well. As Dr. Jennifer Ellis shared in her previous email, we are contacting you on behalf of WhitworthKee Consulting (WKC). The WKC Evaluation Team was contracted as a third party by the National Science Foundation (NSF) to evaluate components of the Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program (the Noyce Program). You are receiving this email because of your commitment to your Noyce project as a Principal Investigator (PI).

The Noyce Program evaluation's purpose is to (a) understand overall perceptions of the Program from both ndividuals who have applied for and/or received a Noyce award and those who have never applied and/or been awarded and (b) identify what is working well and growth opportunities.

As the PI of a Noyce project, your network and connections could be invaluable in helping us find the right participants. We would like your assistance connecting with Noyce colleagues, K-12 collaborators, and scholars/fellows to inform them about this evaluation and invite them to participate.

Please forward the email below to anyone in the following roles on your Noyce project:

  • Current or former scholar/fellow

  • Evaluator

  • Program support staff or program coordinator

  • Faculty mentor or participant supervisor

  • K-12 school leader, district leader, or administrator involved in coordination/ collaboration with Noyce Program(s) in higher education

Your help identifying other people affiliated with your Noyce project is essential to our evaluation’s ability to offer a comprehensive understanding of the Program.

Any information shared by you and/or your colleagues/students will not be used to evaluate your project specifically, and individually identifiable participant responses will not be shared with anyone (including NSF staff or other Noyce team members) outside of the WKC Evaluation Team.

If you have any questions, please contact [email protected] or reply to this message. We can also be reached at (202) 339-1473 (ext. 2009). If you would like additional information about the evaluation, please visit the evaluation website: https://whitworthkee.com/nsf-noyce-program-evaluation/. If you would like to learn more about WhitworthKee Consulting, you can find more information at the WKC website: https://whitworthkee.com/.

We appreciate your support in the evaluation!

Subject: Invitation to Participate in an Evaluation of the Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program

Dear Noyce Colleagues and Current or Former Scholars/Fellows,

We hope you are doing well. We are WhitworthKee Consulting (WKC), and we were contracted by the National Science Foundation (NSF) to evaluate components of the Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program (the Noyce Program). The Principal Investigator who forwarded this email believes that you might be interested in sharing your perspective for our evaluation.

The Noyce Program provides funding to higher education institutions via (a) scholarships, (b) stipends, and (c) other means of programmatic support to recruit and prepare science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) majors and other professionals to become K-12 STEM teachers and teacher leaders. You may know this program by another name specific to your institution. The Noyce Program evaluation's purpose is to (a) understand overall perceptions of the Program from both individuals who have applied for and/or received a Noyce award and those who have never applied and/or been awarded and (b) identify what is working well and growth opportunities.

If you agree to participate in the evaluation, you will first be asked to complete a questionnaire that asks about you, your educational and professional experiences, and your involvement with the Noyce Program (estimated time commitment: 20 minutes). Later in the evaluation, between Fall 2024 and Summer 2025, you may receive information about participating in a focus group where you will be invited to provide your perspectives on STEM teacher preparation/leadership and the Noyce Program. If you choose to participate, we will do everything we can to keep your responses confidential, and we will not share individually identifiable information with anyone (including NSF staff or other Noyce project members) outside of the WKC Evaluation Team.

If you would like to participate in the evaluation, please use the following link to complete the demographic questionnaire at your earliest convenience: [LINK]

Please feel free to tailor the email below or include your own introduction to the email before forwarding.

If you have any questions, please contact [email protected]. We appreciate your consideration and look forward to hearing your perspectives.

Sincerely,

The WhitworthKee Consulting Evaluation Team
