Child Volunteers Need
Children ages 1 to 5 years are needed for a research study on child strength. Child strength data
are used to develop safety standards for products used by children. This study is funded by the
Consumer Product Safety Commission.
If your child is between 18 and 71 months of age, we invite you and your child to participate in
a research study at the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute. You’ll receive
$40 for two hours of participation.

If your child is between 3 months and 11 years old, we invite you and your child to participate
in a research study at the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute. You’ll
receive $50 for two hours of participation.
For all children (<1 to 11 years): You will stay with your child at all times.
For children 3-24 months: Your child will play with items that look like toys, squeezing with their
fingers and pushing and pulling with their hands and feet, so that we can measure their
strength
