The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) is the federal
institute that conducts research and makes recommendations for preventing workrelated injuries, illnesses, and deaths. NIOSH is working with industry partners to
study fatigue among onshore oil and gas workers.
ABOUT THE STUDY
The fatigue study will take place at your workplace during
business hours and consists of two sections:
•
Measuring fatigue with surveys, wristwatch sensors, and
daily check-ins.
•
A one-hour focus group or interview.
PARTICIPATION
Most oil and gas workers and supervisors with at least 3
months of experience are eligible to participate. Participation
and responses are strictly confidential. Final study results will
not identify individual workers. Participants will receive a gift
card as a token of appreciation.
