This memo requests approval of changes to the approved information collection, Children’s Bureau Express Feedback Survey, approved under the Collection of Qualitative Feedback on Agency Service Delivery (OMB #0970-0401).
Background
Child Welfare Information Gateway (CWIG) is requesting to make minor changes to response options to bring this form into compliance with executive orders Ending Radical and Wasteful Government DEI Programs and Preferencing and Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government.
The Children’s Bureau Express Feedback Survey was included under the Umbrella Generic Clearance for the Collection of Qualitative Feedback on Agency Service Delivery #0970-0401) – Extension 2024 package submitted in the spring of 2024. It was re-approved on 5/15/2024 and is valid through 5/31/2027.
Overview of Requested Changes
We are requesting the removal of response options that do not comply with the executive orders. Specific changes are:
Question 5: remove response option "Racial equity in child welfare”
Please note that this change has no impact on the reporting burden. The OMB application has been updated to reflect the current format only.
Finally, since this request was originally included in the extension request for the umbrella generic, it was included in the summary IC list of all ongoing data collections. This document has been updated to remove this request and instead, the request is entered as a single GenIC in ROCIS.
