Hello, I am writing to express my sincere concern regarding the proposed increases to
the wage levels. The rule is intended to protect American workers but will do the
opposite in practice because increasing what foreign workers must make does not
immediately mean that companies will raise the wages for similarly situated US workers.
This will cause severe discrepancies in the workplace that cannot be quickly addressed
or reversed. Further, the DOL and USCIS already have many regulatory measures in
place to ensure foreign workers are properly authorized and meet all mandatory
statutory requirements. The wage levels are already quite arbitrary and this change will
only force more employers to turn to private surveys. Please do not proceed with the rule
as proposed as it will be catastrophic for US workers and their employers.
