MyTSA PreCheck ID
POC: Aliza Asad

Process Flow (Notional) for TSA PreCheck Application Program Members
TSA PreCheck-Issued Digital ID
When enrolling for a digital ID, members voluntarily provide their PII to TSA for proofing and verification.

Member downloads app
and begins enrollment
process.

Member provides data
needed to confirm that they
have an active KTN - first
name, middle name, last
name, date of birth, country
of birth, KTN (optional).

Member captures a photo
(selfie) to detect liveness and
verify their linkage to the
relevant data.

The relevant data is submitted to
TSA for confirmation of active TSA
PreCheck membership and retrieval
of enrollment and/or US passport
photo*.
- If enrollment photo exists, 1:1
match is performed between
selfie.
- Otherwise, 1:1 match is
performed with passport photo.

After confirmation of identity and
verification that the member is not
on any exclusion lists, TSA issues
and provisions a digital ID to the
member’s device, and member will
have the TSA PreCheck Digital ID
stored locally in their device.
*Eligible members will be asked if they
would like to opt in to TSA PreCheck
Touchless ID

* There are 22.8M TSA PreCheck Application Program Members, of which there are approximately 1.1M individuals that have neither an enrollment photo or US passport photo on file.
These individuals would not be able to obtain a TSA PreCheck Digital ID until a remote photo capture capability is developed.

Process Flow (Notional) at the Checkpoint
TSA PreCheck Member Identity Verification Experience

Member proceeds to the TSA
PreCheck lane, or to TSA
PreCheck Touchless ID lane,
if opted in, where digital ID is
not required beyond this point.

Member presents digital ID
at the TDC and transmits
required data elements with
the edge device.

Edge device captures a live
photo of the member for a 1:1
biometric match against the
photo associated with the digital
ID.

TSA confirms member’s TSA
PreCheck® valid active
KTN status and verifies the
authenticity of the digital ID.

TSO directs member to TSA
PreCheck screening lane.
