This is an amazing opportunity for your household members to take part
in a unique national survey!
The NLSY27 is a survey sponsored by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. RTI International, a nonprofit research
institute, is conducting the NLSY27.
The purpose of this survey is to learn about youths’ experiences as they move from school to work and into adulthood.
Survey results will help guide the future planning of education, job training, and employment opportunities in the U.S.
Results help us learn the answers to questions like:

▪ What impact does having a job during school have on youth’s grades?
▪ How effective are job training programs?
▪ What helps young people succeed financially?
The NLSY27 is a longitudinal survey.
This means youth are surveyed at different points in time throughout their lives. We will follow up with youth
every 1-2 years. For each of these surveys, youth will be able to decide whether to participate that year.
Youth who join today will represent their generation as they go through different phases of their lives.

We are not selling anything.
The National Longitudinal Surveys of Youth are legitimate, long-running surveys sponsored by the U.S.
Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics. By taking part, you will be contributing to research
that helps improve education systems, work conditions, and overall well-being for young people.

Your privacy is a priority.
And we will protect it. We don’t share your address or any other information that can
identify who you are. We never share your individual answers to survey questions.

When youth participate, they
