Instructions, Progress Reporting, Independent Living and Respite Surveys (91 FR 38408, Docket No.
CNCS-2026-0232, OMB Control Number 3045-0035)
Dear Ms. Corindo,
On behalf of the National AmeriCorps Seniors Association (NACSA), the national membership
organization representing grantees of all three AmeriCorps Seniors programs, we submit the following
comments regarding the Progress Report Supplement (PRS) and the Independent Living and Respite
Surveys.
The PRS has long been a source of duplicative and unnecessary administrative burden. We are pleased
that this revision would eliminate the Supplement and fold its remaining relevant questions directly into
the Project Progress Report (PPR). Consolidating reporting into a single instrument will reduce the time
our grantees spend on redundant data entry and allow project staff to redirect that time toward volunteer
recruitment, placement, and program delivery.
On the SCP Independent Living Survey and Respite Survey, NACSA members recognize the value of
these instruments in measuring the impact of independent living and respite services on the social ties and
social support of clients and caregivers. We understand this notice requests continued use of the current

survey, which is set to expire on September 30, 2026, and we support that proposal. We recently learned
that AmeriCorps approved funding for the University of Maine to revise the current survey and that a
draft is nearly ready for review. NACSA membership looks forward to offering input as that process
moves forward.
NACSA appreciates the opportunity to submit comments and thanks AmeriCorps Seniors leadership for
its continued efforts to reduce administrative burden on grantees where appropriate. We would welcome
the opportunity to provide further input as this revision moves forward.
Sincerely,
Lynette Scriver-Colburn
President, National AmeriCorps Seniors Association (NACSA)
