Pacific Cod Trawl Cooperative Annual Report

The North Pacific Fishery Management Council (Council) has requested that the designated
representative of each cooperative submit a voluntary annual Pacific Cod Trawl Cooperative (PCTC)
Program cooperative report.
The completed PCTC annual report may be submitted to the Council by email at
[email protected] prior to the annual April Council meeting. The report may also be presented to
the Council during its April meeting.
The Council requests that the PCTC annual cooperative report include information on the following:
•

Cooperative quota leasing activities and any penalties issued

•

Harvest of cooperative quota resulting from processor-held quota share

•

Cooperative membership

•

Cooperative management

•

Performance including implementation of the Aleutian Islands cooperative quota set-aside when
in effect.
PUBLIC REPORTING BURDEN STATEMENT

A Federal agency may not conduct or sponsor, and a person is not required to respond to, nor shall a person be subject to a penalty for
failure to comply with an information collection subject to the requirements of the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 unless the
information collection has a currently valid OMB Control Number. The approved OMB Control Number for this information collection is
0648-0678. Without this approval, we could not conduct this information collection. Public reporting burden for this collection of
information is estimated to average 18 hours per response, including the time for reviewing the instructions, searching existing data
sources, gathering and maintaining the data needed, and completing and reviewing the information collection. All responses to this
information collection are voluntary. Send comments regarding this burden estimate or any other aspect of this information collection,
including suggestions for reducing the burden, to Assistant Regional Administrator, Sustainable Fisheries Division, NOAA National Marine
Fisheries Service, P.O. Box 21668, Juneau, AK 99802-1668.
PRIVACY ACT STATEMENT
AUTHORITY: The collection of this information is authorized by the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act, 16
U.S.C. 1801 et seq.
PURPOSE: The purpose of the annual cooperative report is to provide information to the North Pacific Fishery Management Council and
the public about the operation and performance of the cooperative.
ROUTINE USES: The annual cooperative reports are used by the North Pacific Fishery Management Council and the National Marine
Fisheries Service to ensure the Pacific Cod Trawl Cooperative Program is functioning as intended and to solicit timely information on
issues that may need to be addressed by the Council. The annual cooperative reports submitted to the North Pacific Fishery Management
Council are not confidential. They are posted on the Council’s website and are available to the public. Most of the cooperative managers
present their annual reports in oral testimony to the Council.
DISCLOSURE: Providing this information is voluntary; failure to provide complete and accurate information may prevent the Council and
NMFS from adequately evaluating the Pacific Cod Trawl Cooperative Program.
