It is not a substitute for a consultation with an attorney or an accredited representative.

The Immigration and Nationality Act requires all aliens, with limited exceptions, to apply for registration and fingerprinting if
you:

Are 14 years old or older;

Were not registered and fingerprinted (if required) when applying for a U.S. visa; and

Remain in the United States for 30 days or longer for each period of stay

This may include children born in the United States who did not acquire U.S. citizenship at birth.


Parents and legal guardians of aliens under age 14 must ensure those aliens are registered. Within 30 days of reaching their
14th birthday, all previously registered aliens must apply for re-registration and fingerprinting.

After an alien registers and appears for fingerprinting (unless waived), DHS will issue evidence of registration. If you are an
alien age 18 or older, you must carry and keep this evidence of registration in your personal possession at all times. If you are
an unregistered alien (or previously registered alien who turns 14 years old) and you are in the United States for 30 days or
longer for any period of stay, you must comply with these requirements. If you do not comply, you may face criminal and civil
penalties, up to and including misdemeanor prosecution, the imposition of fines, and incarceration. Please visit the Alien

G-325R, Biographic Information (Registration)
Form G-325R is intended to be used by aliens who have not yet complied with the alien registration requirements of INA 262 266, or “unregistered aliens.” The following groups of individuals are not required to register and should not submit Form
G-325R:

Citizens and nationals of the United States;

Anyone currently outside of the United States;

Aliens who have not yet remained, and do not intend to remain, in the United States for 30 days or longer; 

American Indians born in Canada who entered the United States under section 289 of the INA;

Members of the Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas who entered the United States under the Texas Band of Kickapoo Act;
and

Aliens present in the United States as nonimmigrants who have not ceased to be entitled to such nonimmigrant status
under the following nonimmigrant classifications: 

INA 101(a)(15)(A) (diplomats and other foreign government officials); or 

INA 101 (a)(15)(G) (aliens associated with international organizations). 

In addition, many aliens present in the United States have already complied with the alien registration requirements during
their current period of presence in the United States and should not submit this form. Aliens who are already registered and
should not submit this form include those who have been issued the following evidence/fall into the following classes:

Aliens issued Form I-94/94W/94A in paper or electronic format admitted as nonimmigrants, even if the period of
admission has expired;

Aliens issued Form I-94 in paper or electronic format paroled into the United States under section 212(d)(5) of the INA,
even if the period of parole has expired;

Aliens issued Form I-94 in paper or electronic format who claim entry prior to July 1, 1924, and have satisfactorily
established residence in the United States since prior to July 1, 1924;

Aliens issued Form I-94 in paper or electronic format granted permission to depart without the institution of deportation
proceedings;

Aliens issued Form I-95, Crewmen’s Landing Permit as crewmen arriving by vessel or aircraft;

Aliens issued Form I-185, Nonresident Alien Canadian Border Crossing Card;

Aliens issued Form I-186, Nonresident Alien Mexican Border Crossing Card;

Aliens issued Form I-221, I-221S, I-862, or I-863, placing them into exclusion, deportation, or removal proceedings;

Lawful Permanent Residents (whose Form I-551, Permanent Resident Card, serves as proof of registration); and

Aliens issued Form I-766, Employment Authorization Document.

Also, a valid, unexpired nonimmigrant DHS admission or parole stamp in a foreign passport serves as evidence of
registration. 

Also, anyone who submitted one of the forms designated at 8 CFR 264.1(a) and provided fingerprints (unless waived) and
was not issued one of the pieces of evidence designated at 8 CFR 264.1(b), has complied with the registration
requirement of INA 262.

If you have been issued one or more of these documents or fall into one or more of these classes, do not submit this form as
you have already registered, unless you reached your 14th birthday and you must apply for re-registration and to be
fingerprinted and you are not required to submit another form to apply for re-registration.

Please note that registration has no direct connection to your lawful immigration status, if any. For example, someone
placed into removal proceedings is a registered alien but may have no lawful immigration status. Similarly, someone
admitted as a nonimmigrant who overstays their period of admission has no lawful immigration status but is a registered
alien.

Biometric services appointment
USCIS may require you to appear for an interview or provide biometrics (fingerprints, photograph, and/or
signature) at any time to verify your identity, obtain additional information, and conduct background and
security checks, including a check of criminal history records maintained by the Federal Bureau of Investigation
(FBI), before making a decision on your request. If we determine that a biometric services appointment is
necessary, we will send you an appointment notice with the date, time, and location of your appointment.

At your biometrics appointment, you must sign an oath reaffirming that:

You reviewed and understood all of the information contained in, and submitted with, your form; and

All of this information was complete, true, and correct at the time of filing.

If you do not attend your biometric services appointment, you have not completed your registration.
