The Department is establishing minimum qualifications for appraisers of Indian property that require the submission of the appraiser’s qualifications to the Department for verification. The Indian Trust Asset Reform Act (ITARA) allows Tribal and individual Indian landowners to use appraisals by qualified appraisers without further review or approval from the Department.
