National Blue Ribbon Schools Program

Each year since 1982, the U. S. Department of Educations National Blue Ribbon Schools Program has sought out and celebrated great American schools; schools that are demonstrating that all students can achieve to high levels. The purpose of the Program is to honor public and private elementary, middle and high schools based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in closing achievement gaps among different groups of students. The Program is part of a larger U. S. Department of Education effort to identify and disseminate knowledge about best school leadership and teaching practices.
