Abstract: THE AGRICULTUREAL MARKETING ACT OF 1946 (7 U.S.C. 1622) AUTHORIZES THE COLLECTION AND DISSEMINATION OF MARKETING INFORMATION INCLUDING ADEQUATE OUTLOOK ON A MARKET AREA BASIS. ESTIMATE AS TO NUMBER OF CATTLE, HOGS, SHEEP TO BE SLAUGHTERED EACH DAY IS COLLECTED. THE ESTIMATED SLAUGHTER DATA ARE USED WIDELY BY THE LIVESTOCK AND RELATED INDUSTRIES IN PLANNING CURRENT AND FUTURE OPERATION.
