Abstract: SECTION 5 OF THE DOT ACT, AS AMENDED, ESTABLISHED THE RAIL SERVICE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM. INDIVIDUAL STATES SUBMIT APPLICATIONS CONTAINING INFORMATION REQUIRED TO OBTAIN FUNDS FOR THE FOLLOWING PURPOSES: RAIL SERVICE CONTINUATION, ACQUISTION, REHABILITATION OR IMPROVEMENT, ETC. THE STATE RAIL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM UTILIZES THE STANDARD A-102 GRANT APPLICATION AND REPORTING FORMS.
