Abstract: THE NPIP IS A VOLUNTARY STATE - FEDERAL PROGRAM FOR IMPROVEMENT OF POULTRY BREEDING FLOCKS, AND IDENTIFIES BREEDING FLOCKS WHICH HAVE MET CERTAIN STANDARDS FOR BREEDING AND FREEDOM FROM DISEASES. DATA OBTAINED FROM STATE AGENCIES IS USED TO EVALUATE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE PROGRAM AND PROVIDED INFORMATION FOR USE IN NATIONAL PUBLICATIONS.
