Abstract: ALASKA AND HAWAII USE THIS SURVEY TO ESTIMATE THEIR STATE CATTLE INVENTORY AS OF JANUARY 1. ELEVEN OTHER STATES USE THIS SURVEY TO SUPPLEMENT THE DECEMBER ENUMERATIVE SURVEY (40-R2820) AND CATTLE MULTIFRAME SURVEY (40-R3774) FOR PREPARING COUNTY ESTIMATES. THESE ESTIMATES ARE USED BY THE LIVESTOCK INDUSTRY IN PLANNING PRODUCTION AND MARKETING POLICIES.
