THIS SYSTEM IS A LOGICAL EXTENSION OF
THE WEEKLY MORBIDITY SYSTEM, PROVIDING AN ANNUAL SUMMARY OF EACH
NATIONALLY NOTIFIABLE DISEASE. THIS SYSTEM ENABLES STATE HEALTH
DEPARTMENTS TO REVIEW ACCUMLATED CASE REPORT DATA, ADDING OR
DELETING CASES IN ACCORDANCE WITH EPIDEMIOLOGIC FOLLOW-UP OF
REPORTED WEEKLY CASES. WEEKLY DATA PROVIDE ONLY CASE COUNTS TO CDC;
ANNUAL DATA PROVIDES MORE VALUABLE EPIDEMIOLOGIC DATA SUCH AS AGE,
SEX, AND COUNTY LOCATION
