Abstract: SURVEY RESULTS ARE USED BY GOVERNMENT AGENCIES, BUSINESS FIRMS, AND TRADE ASSOCIATIONS FOR MARKET ANALYSIS AND TO FORECAST LONG-TERM GROWTH AND CHANGES IN THE INDUSTRY. THE DATA ARE ALSO USED BY THE FEDERAL RESERVE BOARD FOR ITS INDEX OF INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION.
