Abstract: THE SF 173 IS A SHORT VERSION OF THE SF 171 AND IS USED BY APPLICANTS FOR A BROAD RANGE OF TRADES AND LABOR (BLUE COLLAR) POSITIONS AND COLLECTS INFORMATION ABOUT EDUCATION, PAST EMPLOYMENT AND SUITABILITY. IN MOST CASES, THE SF 173 IS USED WITH A TAILORED SUPPLEMENTARY QUALIFICATIONS STATEMENT (SEE 050R0481) DESIGNED TO ASK QUESTIONS DIRECTLY RELATED TO JOB SKILLS NEEDED FOR THE SPECIFIC POSITION INVOLVED
