THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH ACT
OF 1970 REQUIRES EMPLOYERS TO PREPARE AND MAINTAIN RECORDS OF
OCCUPATIONAS UNJURIES AND ILLNESSES, ARE DESIGNED TO ASSIST
COMPLIANCE SAFETY AND HEALTH OFFICERS IN MAKING IMSPECTIONS. THEY
ALSO PROVIDE THE BAISIS FOR STATISTICAL PROGRAM WHICH PRODUCES
RELIABLE INJURY AND ILLNESS INCIDENCE RATES. THIS INFORMATION ALSO
WILL BE HELPFUL TO EMPLOYERS IN IDENTIFYING MANY OF THE FACTORS
WHICH CAUSE INJURIES AND ILLNES

the collection of information encompassed by this request complies

1320.8(b)(3).
