Approved. The
burden changes have been adjusted to reflect a negative adjustment
of 543,828 hours caused by transfer of responsibility for
recordkeeping to OSHA and a program change increase of 30833 hours
caused by requiring a sample of normally exempt employe to keep
records. Your request dated October 22, 1993 for appoval of
revisions is approved as submitted.

THE OSHA ACT AND 29 CFR PART 1904
PRESCRIBE THAT CERTAIN EMPLOYERS MAINTAIN, AN REPORT WHEN
REQUESTED, RECORDS OF JOB-RELATED INJURIES AND ILLNESSES. THE DATA
ARE NEEDED BY BLS AND OSHA TO REPORT ON, AND CARRY OUT ENFORCEMENT
OF STANDARDS TO GUARANTEE WORKERS' SAFETY AND HEALTH ON THE JOB.
CURRENTLY 1,500,000 EMPLOYERS MAINTAIN RECORDS, BUT WE ESTIMATE
ONLY 64 PERCENT HAVE RECORDABLE CASES.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies

1320.8(b)(3).
