Abstract: THE MAJOR OBJECTIVE OF THE PROPOSED RESEARCH IS TO STUDY SEX-ROLE DEVELOPMENT IN ONLY CHILDREN, TOGETHER WITH ITS PARENTAL ANTECEDENTS. ATTENTION IS BEING GIVEN TO THE CONSEQUENCES OF BEING AN ONLY CHILD FOR SEX-ROLE DEVELOPMENT AND IDENTITY. ALSO, THE EFFECTS OF HAVING AN ONLY CHILD ON THE PARENTS' FAMILY PLANNING DECISIONS AND ATTITUDES TOWARD SEX-ROLES IS BEING CONSIDERED.
