Abstract: THIS EVALUATION IS TO DETERMINE THE HIRE I PROGRAM'S ACCOMPLISHMENTS, AS WELL AS ITS PROBLEMS, IN CARRYING OUT ITS OBJECTIVE OF ENCOURAGING EMPLOYERS TO HIRE, TRAIN, AND SEEK TO MAINTAIN IN CONTINUING EMPLOYMENT UNEMPLOYED WORKERS FROM SPECIFIED TARGET GROUPS, PARTICULARLY VETERANS. THE EVALUATION WILL ASSESS THE PROGRAM EXPERIENCE TO PROVIDE MORE INFORMED BASES FOR JUDGEMENTS ON FUTURE POLICY AND DESIGN OF ANY SIMILAR EFFORTS
