Abstract: THESE SURVEYS ARE PART OF A NATIONAL STUDY OF THE EFFECTS OF LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS ON HOUSING COSTS. LOCAL GOVERNMENT PLANNING OFFICIALS ARE BEING SURVEYED TO INVENTORY THE LAND USE REGULATIONS IN FORCE AND TO GET ESTIMATES OF PROCESSING TIME. RESIDENTIAL LAND DEVELOPERS ARE BEING SURVEYED TO GET ESTIMATES OF COSTS OF REGULATION.
