Abstract: THE INSURANCE VALIDATION STUDY INVOLVES FIELD RESEARCH AND VALIDATION OF RESPONSES TO TEST ALTERNATIVE METHODS OF COLLECTION AND VALIDATION OF LIFE INSURANCE HOLDINGS AND CONSUMER DURABLES. THE PURPOSE IS TO OBTAIN A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE PROBLEMS IN COLLECTING INFORMATION FROM HOUSEHOLD RESPONDENTS ON THEIR HOLDINGS OF LIFE INSURANCE AND DURABLE GOODS, HOW THEY MIGHT BE VALUED, AND TO TEST ALTERNATIVE DATA COLLECTION TECHNIQUES FOR MEASURING INDIVIDUALS
