Abstract: TO ESTABLISH A VERFIED INVENTORY OF ORGANIZATIONAL CHARACTERISTICS OF ALL HMO'S IN THE USA, AND TO CONDUCT RESEARCH ON THE ORGANIZATIONAL DETERMINANTS OF EFFECTIVENESS AS MEASURED BY COST, UTILIZATION, GROWTH, QUALITY OF CARE, CONSUMER AND PROVIDER ATTITUDES. DATA FROM THE INVENTORY WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE TO OTHER RESEARCHERS TO ENHANCE FURTHER RESEARCH ON ORGANIZATIONAL MATTERS.
