Abstract: THE DATA OBTAINED BY THE BUREAU OF MINES SURVEY OF SALES OF INDUSTRIAL EXPLOSIVES AND BLASTING AGENTS IN THE UNITED STATES ASSIST THE BUREAU IN THE PERFORMANCE OF IT FUNCTIONS IN MINING RESEARCH, MINING ECONOMY, EFFICIENCY IN MINING, AND IN MINING SAFETY, AS THE MINING INDUSTRY CONSUMES ABOUT 80 PERCENT OF ITS INDUSTRIAL EXPLOSIVES AND BLASTING AGENTS SOLD IN THE UNITED STATES.
