THE REVISION PROPOSED WILL ELIMINATE
INFORMATION THAT IS OF MARGINAL VALUE TO THE SURVEY CONTENT. SOME
MODIFICATION INVOLVE THE ADDITION OF INFORMATION ON TYPES OF
MORTGAGE INSTRUMENTS THAT HAVE INCREASED SIGNIFICANTLY SINCE THE
LAST MAJOR REVISION OF THE 1972 SURVEY. THE IMPACT OF THESE
PROPOSED CHANGES ON THE REPORTING BURDEN WOULD REDUCE THE NUMBER OF
REPORTABLE ITEMS IN EACH COMPONENT SURVEY.
