Abstract: THE LTC MDS IS DESIGNED TO BE COLLECTED ON ALL LTC CLIENTS (I.E., INSTITUTIONAL, AMBULATORY, AND HOME SETTINGS). THE EVALUATION DATA ARE NEEDED TO GUIDE FUTURE STUDIES IN LTC BY INCORPORATING STANDARD ITEMS, DEFINITIONS, AND PROCEDURES. THE MDS WILL ULTIMATELY BE USED IN LTC PLANNING, EVALUATION, AND RESEARCH.
