CDC FORMS 4.649
A AND B ARE APPROVED UNDER THIS REQUEST. CDC FORM 4.649C: REPORT
AND RECORD OF SHIPMENTS OF NONHUMAN PRIMATES RECEIVED WITHIN 31
DAYS OF IMPORTATION AND SUBSEQUENTLY HELD LESS THAN 90 DAYS IS
DISAPPROVED. CDC EXPLAINED THAT THIS FORM IS USED TO CONTROL THE
DISTRIBUTION OF NONHUMAN PRIMATES AS THEY ARE ALLOWED ONLY FOR
LIMITED PURPOSES. OMB BELIEVES THAT THE SAME PURPOSE CAN BE
ACCOMPLISHED BY HAVING IMPORTERS SIGN ASSURANCES THAT THE ANIMALS
WILL BE SOLD ONLY FOR THE PURPOSES ALLOWED. OMB BELIEVES THAT THE
REPORTING OF ALL DISPOSITIONS OF NONHUMAN PRIMATES IS AN
UNNECESSARY BURDEN.
