Abstract: AT AN ESTIMATED $1,500 REPLACEMENT COST PER NURSE, THE AGGREGATE TURNOVER OF PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE NURSES COSTS THE GOVERNMENT ABOUT $900,000 PER YEAR. BECAUSE OF ITS RESULTANT VACANCIES AND TIME TO TRAIN REPLACEMENTS, THE TURNOVER INTERRUPS CONTINUITY IN THE PROVISION OF HEALTH CARE SERVICES. RESPONSES TO THE SURVEY TO BE CONDUCTED IN MARCH THROUGH MAY 1981 WILL AID PUBLC HEALTH SERVICE MANAGERS IN TAGETTING RECOMMENDED CORRECTIVE ACTIONS
