Abstract: THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION FUNDED 18 METROPOLITAN PLANNIN ORGANIZATIONS TO DEMONSTRATE THE POTENTIAL ROLES REGIONAL PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTIONS HAVE IN THE FORMULATION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF REGIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIES. THE STUDY RESULTS WILL BE USED TO EVALUATE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM, AND TO AID FURTHER PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT.
