Abstract: SSEL PROVIDES: (1) A STANDARD BASIS FOR ASSIGNING STANDARD INDUSTRIAL CLASSIFICATION CODES OF ESTABLISHMENTS ENGAGED IN ALL AREAS OF ECONOMI ACTIVITY, (2) A SINGLE SOURCE FOR THE APPLICATION OF A COMMON FRAME FO THE SELECTION AND MAINTENANCE OF STATISTICAL SAMPLES OF ESTABLISHMENTS LEGAL ENTITIES, OR ENTERPRISES, AND (3) A BENCHMARK DATA BASE FROM WHI SAMPLE ESTIMATES CAN BE DEVELOPED MORE ACCURATELY AND EFFICIENTLY.
