Abstract: THIS INFORMATION COLLECTION REQUIREMENT IS NEEDED TO GOVERN THE APPLICATION, REVISION, RENEWAL AND CANCELLATION OF PERMITS TO CONDUCT SURFACES COAL MINING ON FEDERAL LANDS. IT IS USED BY THE SECRETARY OF THE INTERIOR IN DETERMINING WHETHER RECLAMATION CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED AS REQUIRED BY P.L. 95-87 ON LANDS DISTURBED OR AFFECTED BY SURFACE COAL MINING OPERATIONS.
