Abstract: UNDER 20 U.S.C. 1221G (SEE ATTACHMENT A), THE OFFICE OF INDIAN EDUCATION IS AUTHORIZED BY THE COMMISSIONER OF EDUCATION TO SOLICIT NOMINATIONS FOR VACANT MEMBERSHIP POSITIONS ON THE NATIONAL ADVISORY COUNCIL ON INDIAN EDUCATION, A PRESIDENTIALLY APPOINTED COUNCIL. FIVE SUCH MEMBERSHIP POSITIONS ARE OPEN ANNUALLY THEREBY NECESSITATING A SOLICITATION OF NOMINATIONS.
