FCC RECEIVES 2ND COPY AND CHECKS WHETHER EQUIPMENT IS APPROVED, IF REQUIRED. REASON IS TO PREVENT IMPORTATION INTO U.S. OF EQUIPMENT NOT IN COMPLIANCE WITH FCC RULES. UNDERLYING PURPOSE IS TO MINIMIZE RADIO FREQUENCY INTERFERENCE CAUSED BY NONCOMPLYING DEVICES.
