Abstract: MONTHLY DATA COMPILED BY THIS SURVEY ARE USED TO TRACK CURRENT CHANGES IN THE NET INCOME AND CONDITION OF INSURED MUTUAL SAVINGS BANKS, WHICH NOW ARE AMONG THE FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS MOST THREATENED BY CURRENT ECONOMIC CONDITIONS. BANKS SURVEYED HOLD 76 PERCENT OF THE ASSETS OF ALL MUTUAL SAVINGS BANKS. REGULAR CALL REPORTS ARE RECEIVED TOO INFREQUENTLY AND TOO LATE FOR THIS PURPOSE.
