Abstract: THIS STUDY WILL BE USED TO ASSIST NSF IN EVALUATING FUTURE DIRECTION OF FUNDING TO RESPOND TO NATIONAL NEEDS. IN ADDITION, BY PUBLICATION OF THE RESULTS, ASSISTANCE WILL BE PROVIDED TO ACADEMIC COMPUTER SCIENCE DEPARTMENTS AND FUNDING AGENCIES TO PLAN PROGRAMS SO AS TO RESPOND TO CURRENT FACULTY MARKET CONDITIONS.
