Terms of Clearance: Approved for one six month period (first half of fiscal year 1981) only. The addition of part IV, information on multi-program fraud, is approved for one time use only. SSA should provide OMB with a report of findings derived from this item with any request for continued use of a fraud report. Information on multi-program fraud should be integrated into the fraud report, perhaps by the addition of a Food Stamps column in part I. A detailed report on results of discussions with USDA should accompany the next submission.

Abstract: SECTION 402(A)(6) AND 1902(A)(6) OF THE SOCIAL SECURITY ACT PROVIDE FOR INFORMATION REQUIRED TO REVIEW THE METHODS OF DEALING WITH QUESTIONS REGARDING RECIPIENT FRAUD. THE REPORT IS USED TO PROVIDE DETAILED INFORMATION ON RECIPIENT FRAUD IN THE AFDC AND MEDICAID PROGRAMS.
