Abstract: NEXT IS A PROGRAM IN WHICH STATE RADIATION CONTROL AGENCIES MEASURE X-RAY MACHINE OUTPUT THROUGH A STANDARDIZED FIELD SURVEY TECHNIQUE. THIS SURVEY PROCEDURE ALLOWS DETERMINATION OF RADIATION EXPOSURE TO THE PATIENT AND ALSO ALLOWS CALCULATION OF RADIATION DOSE TO CERTAIN BODY ORGANS FROM STANDARD RADIOGRAPHIC EXAMINATIONS.
