Abstract: WHILE ON THE PREMISES OF A WINE CELLAR OR WINERY MOST FEDERAL EXCISE TAXES ON THE WINE HAVE NOT YET BEEN PAID BUT THE WINERY IS LIABLE FOR THE TAXES. THE FILING OF SUCH A BOND FORM BY THE WINERY PROTECTS THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AGAINST LOSS OF TAXES ON THE EVENT OF DEFAULT BY THE WINERY. THESE BONDS PROTECT MILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN FEDERAL TAXES.
