Abstract: FORM 5768 ALLOWS TAX EXEMPT SECTION 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATIONS TO ELECT LIBERALIZED TREATMENT OF THEIR EXPENDITURES TO INFLUENCE LEGISLATION, THEY AGREE TO PAY AN EXCISE TAX ON LARGER THAN PERMITTED AMOUNTS. IF ELECTION IS MADE, THE ORGANIZATION'S TAX EXEMPTION IS REVOKED IF IT USES THIS INFORMATION TO DETERMINE WHAT RULES THE ORGANIZATION'S EXPENDITURE ARE TREATED UNDER.
