Abstract: 12 CFR 523.1 AND SECTION 4 OF THE FEDERAL HOME LOAN BANK ACT REQUIRE THAT THE BANK BOARD ACT ON APPLICATIONS BY FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS FOR MEMBERSHIP IN THE FEDERAL HOME LOAN BANK SYSTEM. THE BANK MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION IS USED TO EVALUATE WHETHER THE APPLICANT MEETS THE STATUTORY CRITERIA FOR MEMBERSHIP AND ITS FINANCIAL CONDITION IS ADEQUATE TO SUPPORT BANK ADVANCES.
