TO ASSIST THE NSF (DEB) IN ESTABLISHING PROGRAM OBJECTIVES AND PRIORITIES OVER THE NEXT TEN YEARS, A SURVEY IS PROPOSED OF THE SYSTEMIC BIOLOGY COMMUNITY AND ASSOCIATED PHYSICAL RESOURCES TO DETERMINE THE TYPES, DIVERSITY, AND AVAILABILITY OF PHYSICAL RESOURCES AND THE NUMBER AND DIVERSITY OF PROFESSIONAL SYSTEMATISTS (ACCOUNTING FOR THEIR TAXONOMIC EXPERTISE AND GEOGRAPHIC FOCUS) IN THE U.S. THE TWO-PHASE SURVEY WILL BE INITIATED IN FY '82 AND COMPLETED IN FY '83.
